Granite Mountain Hotshots – Yarnel, Arizona

The Granite Mountain Hotshots were a group of elite wildland firefighters based in Prescott, Arizona. The team was established in 2002 and was trained to fight wildfires in the most challenging conditions. Unfortunately, 19 of the Granite Mountain Hotshots lost their lives in the line of duty on June 30, 2013, while fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire, one of the deadliest wildfires in Arizona’s history.
