Apache Junction is a city in Pinal County, Arizona, United States, approximately 35 miles east of Phoenix. The city has a population of around 38,000 and is known for its location at the foot of the Superstition Mountains. The area attracts outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy hiking, biking and horseback riding in the nearby Tonto National Forest. Apache Junction was named after the junction where the Apache Trail met the Old West Highway.
